Expedient is hiring a Network and Firewall Migration
AdministratorWe are seeking experienced technologists to support
migrating all our clients to a new version of Expedient cloud
platform running a VMware hypervisor and software defined
networking NSX-T. The ideal candidates will have experience in
software defined networking overlays, BGP routing, and firewall
rules.Sponsorship is not provided.Schedule & Rate of Pay:
Flexibility for night and weekend work is essential as these
migrations will happen during limited and scheduled customer change
windows. This position is a 12-month contract-to-hire role and is a
remote role available in any US city.Estimated annual salary range
for this role is $65k - $75k plus a substantial shift premium for
working overnight & weekend hours.Key Responsibilities:
- Complete pre-migration environment readiness checks.
- Perform network service migrations across the Expedient cloud
platforms per the defined schedule and standard operating
procedure.
- Complete post-migration validation health assessments.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure efficient
migrations during scheduled after-hours work.
- Log, report, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to the
migration process, following an escalation path or rollback
procedure when necessary.Required Qualifications:
- IT knowledge and understanding of networking components, such
as vlans, vxlans, switching, IP routing, and spine-leaf
architecture.
- Understanding on firewall rules and security access
controls.Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with software defined networking such as VMware NSX
for network virtualization.
- Familiarity with data replication platforms such as Palo Alto
and Juniper firewalls.
- Experience with switching such as Arista and Juniper.Work
Environment:
- This is a contract-based role, to be part of a larger team,
meeting daily to prepare for upcoming changes, executing the
playbooks during the scheduled change windows, review progress
towards success, and align root cause on failed or rolled back
migrations. During the duration of the project, minimum of 12
months, a full-time position with the team is possible.WORKING FOR
